My free and easy life
well now she has written a book, what could change her life. Though there may be some good tips if you have already lost your job and struggle
================== My free and easy life * The Guardian, Saturday 2 January 2010 When Katharine Hibbert lost her job and her flat she didn't just downsize she decided to dispense with money altogether, living on the stuff the rest of us throw away... http://www.guardian.co.uk/environmen...-without-money |
Re: My free and easy life
we've become a " throwaway " society
and some people, including myself, are learning to live on the still useful items/food thrown away Nothing is garbage anymore . . . |
Re: My free and easy life
I had a roomate in college who went for a run every morning at 5:30. He brought home so much useful stuff which he found in and around neighborhood trash cans, that we furnished half of our apartment. He never had to buy soap, because people would throw out decorative glycerine soaps by the dozen, still in the cellophane.
Thanks for posting an interesting read! |

If you can check your pride at the door, there is a few bucks to be made on other people's "garbage".

Re: My free and easy life
At age 26 it seems dreamy to live that way. Within twenty years you start to wish you had a little house with a fence around it that nobody could take away. And twenty years after that you just need somebody to take care of you.
To be more philosophical: Yes, anybody can live on nothing. It's more difficult to live for something. |
